LA Weight Loss Diet

Dieting

L.A. Weight Loss Centers is a diet plan and weight loss program, which is based on reduced calorie intake. It is combined with supplements, nutritional bars, personal counseling and behavior modification.

The program claims to help lose 1.5 to 2 pounds per week.

The program focuses more on marketing their nutritional supplements called the LA Lites. When a person is enrolled in this program, weight loss is guaranteed as long as he or she purchases the bars or supplements.

The first phase of the program, which lasts three days, is called the Jump Start wherein the dieters take a high-protein diet with an orange and few green vegetables. This stage focuses on weight loss.

After the three initial days, you will then be following a calorie-restricted diet plan. Dieters are allowed to consume between 1,000 and 1,800 calories per day. This is also called the stabilization stage since the dieter have reached their goal weight. This phase focuses on food moderation and control.

The last stage is guided by counselors who will help the dieters to maintain the weight loss. In this phase, sweets and other indulgences are set aside. This program consists of 35 % protein, 20 % fat and 45 % carbohydrates.

The problem with the third phase is that the counselors are clients of L.A. weight loss Center. Meaning, these so-called counselors are given incentives for every product they sell to their co-members. The program does not have professional counselors who have sufficient training in regards to weight loss and nutrition.

Another drawback of the L.A. Weight Loss program is that it is extremely expensive because of the supplements, bars and juice drinks. A weekly cost is around 6 to 7 dollars per week.

However, the good thing about this diet is it allows the dieters to eat real foods. They also promote regular exercise and provide individual support.
