Generic Name: Omreprazole
Uses: Omeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor used in the treatment of dyspepsia, peptic ulcer disease, gastroesophageal reflux disease and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome
How to use: Omreprazole is a 20mg tablet, taken once a day (every 24 hours) for 14 days before eating. Continue use after 14 days only when directed by a doctor. Do not crush, break or chew the tablet as it decreases the effectiveness of this drug.
Side effects: When taking Omreprazole, you will most likely experience headache, stomach pains which leads to diarrhea, constipation, vomiting, respiratory problems like cough, cold symptoms, and skin rashes
Drug Interaction: Have an extra care when you are also taking the following drugs. This may have some effects and interaction with Omniprazole. Warfarin, anti fungal treatments, anxiety medications like diazepam, and digoxin.
Overdose: Symptoms of an omeprazole overdose include drowsiness, seizures, shortness of breath, and decreased body temperature.
Missed dose: Take the missed dose as soon as you remember it. Skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one.
Important note: Prilosec is not appropriate if you are experiencing heartburn
Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from light and moisture.
