How to use: Nystatin comes as a tablet or a liquid to be taken by mouth, a soft lozenge to be taken by mouth, a tablet or vaginal cream to be inserted into the vagina, and in powder, ointment, and cream to be applied to the skin. Drug Interaction: Drug interactions are not expected with Nystatin. To be safe, consult your doctor before taking any other over-the-counter or prescription medicines.
Overdose: Symptoms of Nystatin overdose include nausea, stomach upset, diarrhea and vomiting. In case of Nystatin overdose, seek emergency medical treatment.
Missed Dose: Take the missed dose as soon as you remember it, but if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the previous dose and continue your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose since this can be dangerous.
Important Note: It is currently unknown whether or not this drug has any effect on unborn fetuses. If you become pregnant while taking Nystatin, contact your doctor immediately.
Storage: Nystatin must be tightly sealed and kept at room temperature. Do not store it at places with excessive heat or places with excessive moisture (such as the bathroom).
