Uses: Metoclopramide is a medicine used for the treatment of persistent hiccups, heartburn, vascular headaches, and nausea and vomiting as a result of chemotherapy for cancer patients. It is also used to stimulate peristalsis and to prevent fluid from going into the lungs during surgery. The drug works by increasing the peristaltic movement of the stomach and the intestines. Metoclopramide is also used to stimulate lactation by inhibiting the action of the hormone prolactin.

Uses: Methylphenidate belongs to the drug class of CNS (Central Nervous System) stimulants. It is used as part of the treatment of ADHD or attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and also for the treatment of narcolepsy. This is a disorder that causes excessive daytime sleeping and sudden attacks of sleepiness which makes it difficult for a person to stay awake during productive hours of the day.

How to use: Methylphenidate comes in immediate- release tablets, chewable tablets, extended-release tablets, regular tablets and solutions. The extended-release tablets are usually taken once a day in the morning while the regular and chewable tablets are taken 2 to 3 times a day. The chewable tablets should be chewed properly and should be taken with a full glass of water. The tablet may swell and block your throat so be sure to take enough liquid to avoid choking. It is advisable to take Methylphenidate 30 to 40 minutes before meals and the last dose should be 4 to 6 hours before your bedtime. This is so that the medicine will not interfere with your sleep.

Also, if Meridia is used for a longer period of time, do not suddenly stop using Meridia without your doctor's approval. Over time, Meridia may not work as well as it did at the beginning. Consult your doctor if weight increases while taking Meridia.
