Buying Prescription Drugs Over the Internet

In this day and age of online sales, it's no surprise that prescription drug ales online have made tremendous growth. Pharmaceutical companies are no exception to the Internet business either. Dispensing prescriptions online is a more cost efficient method of providing drugs as compared to the traditional method. However, there are certain guidelines to be followed so as to ensure the safety of the subscribers and to maintain the reputation of the pharmaceutical companies.

The foremost requirement to check is to verify the terms and conditions to be followed (as in sending or receiving proper documents to be prescribed any medication) and make sure that the drug prescribing company has a valid license to dispense the prescription in the first place. There have been several instances when the consumers have complained about the expiry date and prescription of unsafe drugs. The directions should be crystal clear to avoid any inappropriate use of drugs after it is shipped.

The consumers need to make sure the authenticity of the website prescribing drugs and if they suspect any fraud they should report it to the concerned authorities. Critics argue that Internet has become a safe market to sell illegal drugs that may cause a serious threat to the health of the masses. To ensure safeguards certain regulations have been passed that require the individuals to consult an expert physician so that their exact conditions can be diagnosed.

I agree - online prescription purchase mistakes can be avoided

Hello,
I think you're right. Always watch out for prescription labels and medication inserts that describe what the drug does and any side effects, etc.

Prescription labels and packaging

Hello Bgilley,
After reading your post I thought that I might be the victim of receiving something that it's not. My Propecia tablets have been ordered from a pharmacy in Canada for some time now. I've always received non-branded containers and not the Merck Peopecia bottles like you'd get if you got it from your local drugstore here in the U.S.

I emailed them after reading your post to ask why my pills were in a bottle not clearly marked rather than the Merck bottles. They emailed me back and said that it was because of the quantities I ordered - being irregular than normal bottled amounts of 30 tablets.

I'm a little worried now though because what if I'm receiving something other than Propecia? I'm emailing them back to ask for more specifics, but will let you know once I hear back.

Thanks for bringing this topic to my (and hopefully others) attention.

We've received the same complaints

Hello William,
I understand your frustration. We've heard this type of scam all too many times. That's why it just simply does not pay to buy prescriptions from another country with the exception of Canada.

I feel like Canada is the only country with the proper regulations to ship within the United States. Even though fraud is found within every scenario, I feel that buying from the U.S., even if it's generics, is your best bet.

Please let us know how it goes.

Prescription labels missing on many drugs ordered online

Hello,
I think this topic is an important one since the drug manufacturer for a,most every prescription I know of issues the prescription pamphlet with the drug ordered.

An example might be Propecia (used for hair loss in men). Whenever this medication is shipped it should have a foldout prescription information sheet on the side of the bottle or in the box. If it doesn't, I would go so far as to question the authenticity of the prescription drug and where it came from.
